When are you gonna update this site, Dad?
First things first. The Julia pics have been updated through Christmas Day.
Now, on to what’s been going on…
Julia has been sick for almost two weeks now. She had to make up for lost time as she didn’t get sick for the first 11+ months of her life. Finally, on New Year’s Day, she woke up with a fever, sore throat and congestion. She went to the doctor that morning and the fever and sore throat went away after a day or so. Two weeks later though, her nose is just starting to clear up.
She can now walk on her own from person to person about 6 or 7 feet away. She’s still not ready to venture out by herself. She needs to have a loved one as a target. We have a couple of good videos of this and they will be up soon.
She had a great Christmas at Aunt Denise’s house and a great post-Christmas, Christmas gathering at Grandma and Granddad’s house. She’s now able to make ‘P’ and ‘T’ sounds, so she says “Puh” for Pete and “Tih” for Tia (Denise). She understands more and more every day.
She loves “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” and will touch her head (the first move of the song) within seconds of waking up from a nap. She knows several parts of her body.
Today was a milestone, as she actually stacked these five colored rings that she has. Before that, she had maybe stacked two at a time before and definitely prefered (still does really) to knock them down.
Next weekend is her birthday. Hard to believe it has been a year. More updates coming soon (I promise!).
