Getting Bigger
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005
I forgot to post this last time: Julia had her 6 month doctor’s appointment on the 22nd. She weighed in at 16 lbs., 6 oz. and measured 26″ long. She is really starting to feel a little heavy these days.
Last night was her best night of sleep in a while. She slept until 5:15 in the morning. I tried getting her back to sleep at that point (we want her sleeping until 6), but she wasn’t having it. So I had to keep her occupied for 45 minutes until it was time to eat. We walked around the house a bit, and at one point, we went back into her room. She immediately started to whimper because she thought I was trying to put her back to sleep.
I think she knows the meaning of the word “Daddy”. When I call home from work, Melissa tells her that “Daddy” (or “DaDa”) is one the phone and she smiles. And she likes to hear me talk through the line.
At Grandma & Grandad’s house on Sunday, she sat up by herself for a good 7 or 8 seconds. She’s getting close…
