So it has been a long time since I wrote, and I definitely spoke too soon on that 6:05 thing. Julia hasn’t slept until 6:00 since. And it’s been real bad over the last week and a half or so. She is teething and seems to be in quite a bit of pain at various times of day and night. None of the teeth have broken through yet though, so this could go on for a long time. She woke up at 3:30 the last couple of nights, and it is very difficult (sometimes impossible) to get her back to sleep.

Other than that, she is doing great. She is eating more (and different types of) solid foods every week, she is very close to being able to sit up on her own, and she even attempts to give you a kiss when you ask for one (as long as she’s in a good mood). Her idea of a kiss is more like trying to fit your whole cheek into her mouth, but it’s very cute. She is fascinated by the computer and by Chewy. She watches him intently, and I’m sure if she could walk or crawl, she would follow him around the house. He’s still a bit leery of her, though.

There are a lot of pictures I need to add. I hope to have some up this weekend. Stay tuned…

Julia slept until 6:05 this morning, which was quite an accomplishment. She had been waking up anywhere between 3:30 and 5:00 until late last week. At that point, her mommy would try to get her back to sleep, or just feed her. Starting Friday, though, it was Daddy who would get up with her and if he couldn’t get her to sleep, I would only give her water to drink. She wouldn’t get food from Mommy until 6:00. Well, on Saturday morning, she woke up at 4:30 and eventually went back to sleep. On Sunday, she woke up at 5:20. I tried to get her back to sleep, but she wouldn’t be put down, so we ended up playing for 20 minutes or so before Mommy got up to feed her. On Monday, she woke up at 5:40, and today, she slept until 6:05. Progress is a wonderful thing.

She has been sleeping on her stomach a bit in the last week. In fact, she does most of her sleeping on her stomach now. She still isn’t able to roll back over on to her back whenever she wants to, so if she wakes up, she cries so someone can come help her.

She seems to have better afternoons if she gets a good morning nap. She usually takes two naps in the morning, and if each is only for a half hour or so, she can be pretty cranky in the afternoon. But if she gets a good hour plus nap in the morning, the afternoon is much more pleasant. Taking her for a walk in the morning usually helps her get a good nap. On Sunday, we took her for a walk, and she fell asleep before we were a block from our house.

She also seems to do much better oustide of the house. It may be because she is more stimulated by strange places and strange people, but she hasn’t had any problems the last few times we took her somewhere. On Saturday, we went to her Aunt Denise’s house to get together with some friends (pictures coming soon), and she fell asleep very easily, once with a little walk around the yard in her stroller, and once with some gentle rocking from Daddy. No crying either time.
